2:37 pm - Where was I again?
2011 was my last post here. Did I just abandon Live Journal? It seems I did...
I am more on Facebook actually. Not that it's nicer, just a lot more frequented by people. You can find me there if you fill in Rohan van den Braak.

Tell me if I should update here. :)

Hey, I haven't gone away. I just haven't been able to keep up with Livejournal with all the social media and work and girlfriend and work and training and more work.

Post something more then! Livejournal is always nicer than the other thingies. It is!

Look at this: http://vimeo.com/21482976 our Synergy pre-promo.

Ik got hired today at: KW1C - marketing en communicatie as an instructor in Digital Image Editing. Well, for 6 hours of lessons a week. Plus 6 hours of preparation. I will quit Destil of course. I am still curious as to what the schedule will be.
I' m probably going to be off tommorow for a few days with my dad to the Eifel in Germany. Hope that will be fun :)

Should clean up the mess that's my flat.... Bleh.

How about some more pancakes then?

Seen I have all sorts of ideas of posting things, but never do. How's about a fill in thingie here?

Leave a comment and I'll:

1. Tell you why I friended you. (if I can even remember! If not it'll just be why we are still friends.)
2. Associate you with something - a fandom, a song, a colour, a photo, a word etc.
3. Tell you something I like about you.
4. Tell you a memory I have of you.
5. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you. (To which you must respond!)
6. Tell you my favourite user pic of yours.
7. In return, you must post this in your LJ!

C'est ca.

11:10 am - A message in Dutch. I'll some post something else some other time.
Beste lieden,

Groetjes,

Daan en Rohan

Let me tell you a tale of blablabla.

Been down with the flu, still haven't gotten up completely.Crank stank. Sleep and killepitsch should do the trick. And then some more....

I haven't told you about my new (work)place yet did I?

Isn't that a nice postcard from Tilburg? Spicy!
Het Duvelhok

How about this on the chimney?

No, it is not mine. It has lights in it. It burns. Only if it would really...

In this old textile mill we have a place to excrete our ideas from our feeble heads and mold them into form. If onlyu things would get moving a bit faster. Waiting seems to be a popular way of wasting worktime. Will be worthwhile I hope.

Bless the peppermint pig for words not spoken. Beg for more!

Onward and further.

A few weeks ago I started taking lessons in Tai Chi Chuan again. I am very happy that I have finally found a good teacher who can teach me Tai Chi it is supposed to be practised. In the 12 years that have passed in which I have practised I feel I have learned far less than I have learned in the past weeks. I actually enjoy Chi Gung now. It is a shame I have been taught poor executions of TCC and CG for 5 years. If I would've been taught the proper way from the start I would've trained far more and been far more skilled. Well, better now than never (or something in that general direction). I am thinking of trying to keep up a schedule of at least an hour practise a day, maybe even more. That means getting up earlier and doing stuff sooner and better. Let's hope I can keep to my good intentions.

Talking of which. Something you might like:
http://www.skop.com/brucelee/

I am sorry I have not reacted to some of the posts you may have posted but my mind is not really that cohesive as of late. It partially has to do with what I mentioned earlier, I have to change a lot of things. And some things never change...

How about a snack?

Yesterday I picked up an old man. What happend?
Hurrying to get a bite to eat at friends I drove past a sidewalk with a man lying face down on it. U-turn (how agily the bicycle is!) and I walked to the man and said something to see if he might be concious. The reply was a loud snore. There was a little bit of blood trickling on the pavement. Before I called an ambulance I decided to ring the doorbel at the next house where there seemed to be activity. The people there knew him: ah, he must have drank too much. He lives on the corner there. He probably forgot to open the door. So we picked him up and put him on hus sofa in his home. He did not need an ambulance he said. It happenend more often it seemed.
He must have stumbled and landed on his face. Then just fell asleep. Akward.
Well, I'll be sure to keep an eye out to pick him up again next time.

On further notes the transmission is not so clear at the moment. Will recommence probing at later times.

I have already returned from Indonesia since a few weeks. But you had to wait for my pictures. No pictures, no update.
Indonesia was fun. I really enjoyed seeing the part of my family I had never seen before. I did have to learn more Indonesian. And I think I managed a little bit. Still, I wish I had learned more before I came there. Never mind, I did ok.
There was a lot getting used to. Everybody was staring at me because I was practically the only Western person in a 50 kilometre radius (and wearing a lot of blak: hatti hatti orang ini!). I had to (and did not mind) greet almost everyone on the street. They were seemingly amazed that I greeted them in Javanese.
I enjoyed a lot of good food ofcourse. And about every 20 metres there was a warung (let's call it an Indonesian snackbar) besides the road. Soto Dok was funny. The "Dok" is because they slam the bottle of kecap on the table when they have added it to your soto.
Did make some good friends there. Too bad did not take enough pictures of them. A lot of pictures I made did not turn out as I hoped. Ah well.
But have a look.

Really large pictures - enter at your own peril Collapse )

As I was where and there and sofort. None of the abbrevated.

I would post a picture of myself if I had a relevant one. Maybe I'll reconsider.
Maybe. When the breath that courses through my body has a different rythem. Who knows. When my eyes look down less.

Instead I give you St. Nick (the REAL Dutch version) playing Flock

And so forth.

The 1st December I will be going to Indonesia with my grandmother. My mother will visit for two weeks too. I'll be flying back to Hong Kong with her and than back to Indonesia again. I am not sure if I'll leave this politically rotting country for 6 or 8 weeks. I look forward to finally being there.

I could be talking more later. RAF reconnaissance says no.

Lowlands 2005 is over. Flock has been really very busy. Yesterday I was a really and really exhasuted. Totday I am still tired and not very active.
I did finish some things for this thursday though. Let's hope I finish my course then.

Let's keep this short.

I had procurred Nick Cave's wine bottle. Yes... It was there, and I took it. No, he probably did not want it anymore. Yes, it tasted good. Yes, it made me feel giggly (the taking of the bottle, I shared the wine).

Still, let's hope I finish this thursday.

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes last thursday. (Too bad it was not such a pleasant day for a lot of people across the channel.)
I didn't do much. Went to grandma and got called "rakoes"! Oh my.
In the evening I ate something that made me feel really weird. Stupid me.

I did get this from a friend of mine:
Plastic fantastic. The MG42 was too cumbersome. Silly Daan. What the hell am I going to do with it!? Shoot yellow pellets that's what!

Speculum Solum is still not finished! Darn and double darn! (let's keep it civil) Lingo be damned!
But what the hell am I going to do after the project!?

12:27 am - Late late late

I should have been finishing my course coming thursday. Not going to make it though. At least, I am quite positive I am not. (Positive that I have a negative on that). August is my next chance of getting flogged by the examinators. School has gotten a bit to my head lately. I really want to leave now. Though the actual feeling and process make it harder to accomplish that. Rather put my back into it a lote more than just grope about it. The project: Speculum Solum

Nope, Rohan will type no further.

Tell me what needs doing.

current mood: Rohan

Up to update been up to. I've been to a few places with Flock: To Hang2gaar (youth festival) and here. Both went pretty well. I think I enjoyed the Artefact festival the most. Spoiled in luxury in a way. Slept in the Holiday Inn for three nights, got three warm meals a day, drinks and paid approiately sum for the presentations. Leuven is a really nice city I enjoyed. I even got my hands on some comics I was looking for for some time.
The experiences with Flock got me thinking on what to do when I finish my course (which must happen!). Making installations and cross-overs between theatre and games and art is something I would like to do. This will mean touring different festivals and locations. Not bad for so far that I have experienced it. It is a road I will seriously consider more and more. Working for a company might get me "stuck" and frustrated. Just have to organize.
Which is a problem: I am too disorganized at the moment. [end statement]
Essay should be a done thing, yet it is not. School is sometimes even more disorganized than I am. I have finished it weeks ago but it is not being read. Even not when I have an appointment for it. Will see what happens this Tuesday. Must control anger....
Tuesday will also bring more on my project. I think I will just have to strat building so that I can start testing what I can and will do next with the concept. The concept is not yet finished and that's a problem for me. I don't really like working on my own. Something I will have to try to prevent or live with when I finish this year.

More on request.
